                        The Chief Medical Officer (CMO), based in Udaipur, assisted by the sub-divisional medical officers oversees the functioning of the department. There is one District Hospital at Udaipur, known as Tripura Sundari District Hospital, at part from 3 Sub-Divisional Hospitals at Amarpur, Sabroom and Belonia. There are also three Rural Hospitals at Manubazar of Sabroom, Natunbazar & Ompi of Amarpur in the District. 16 Primary Health Centres (PHC) are scattered over the district, with 5 at Udaipur, 3 at Amarpur, 3 at Sabroom and 5 at Belonia. Under the New norms, there are also 6 more PHC with 1 being   at Udaipur, 1 at Amarpur, 1 at Sabroom and 3 at Belonia. The number of Health Centres in the district is 135 in Alopathay, 23in Homeopathy and 11 in Ayurvedic. The district health administration comprises of 124 Medical Officers and 182

nursing staff.

 

                        In respect of child immunization , the department in 2005-2006 could administer BCG to 14729 , OPV to 14155, DPT to 14137 and Measles vaccine 13617 children, whereas the related targets were set as 16930, 16930, 16930 & 16930 respectively. TT was administered to 9929 pregnant women whereas the target set to 19160.

                        Total no of Health Education camp conducted during 2005-2006 is 3167, total no of health camp conducted during 2005-2006 is 1348.

 

                        R.N.T.C.P – performance during 1st January 2006 to December 2006, total patients attended in OPD to 144943, total sputum examination done -2419, sputum (+ve) cases diagnosed to 224, sputum (-ve / E.P) cases diagnosed(x-ray suggestive ) to 168 and total patients started on treatment to 392.

 

                        21 new Leprosy cases were detected over the district.

 

                        DDT spraying could reach a population of 614586 over 346998 rooms in the district whereas the target was set to 756451 over 413948 rooms. 4500 bed nets were targeted for medication over the district while 4151 could actually be medicated, 30701 blood slides were collected for detection of malaria. Total PF to 3425 were found along with PV to 1190 cases.

 

                    985 Cataract Operation were executed successfully over the district and 20261 students have been screened .170 teachers have been trained on Blindness Control. No of school going children detected with refractive errors are 648 and no. of school going children provided free glasses are 135.
